The idea for the bus was born out of the tiny house show in 2021.  We saw a bluebird school bus made into a tiny house.  The couple that had outfitted it was very earthy and inviting. He had been a falconer and mentioned that it would be so cool to outfit a bus as a tiny education center. The idea for the bird bus was born! 

 In 2022 Robert Phelan donated a mid-size bus to the raptor center.  

In 2023 we had the bus hand painted on the outside by local artist Terry Klaaren, we got it transferred to the Raptor Center and proceeded to gut the interior of the bus as it was an old NY City Prison Bus. The seats were removed, and the floor was covered with plywood and vinyl.  

In 2024 we will finish the inside of the bus and it will function as our:  

Literacy Program – We will read “I can Save the Planet” and kids will be allowed to take a book from our collection of nature books for free. 

Puppet Show – I Can Save the Planet is our show geared towards helping wildlife and stopping the 6th mass extinction.  

Tiny Education Center - It will be transport for our educational ambassadors. It is full of whimsy and wildlife and is a showcase for our conservation efforts.  The puppet show can be performed out of the back or a special preview of our philosophy and story can be experienced by a small tour of the bus.   

In 2025 The Magical Bird Tour will hit the streets of Central Florida!  Immerse yourself in a conservation experience.
